Tennessee whitewater - Middle Creek, Hamilton County Hamilton county, Rainbow Lake to Tennessee River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.     Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The nature scenery of Hamilton County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you     might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling section along Middle Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This is an extremely short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Briefly about the general area: This is such a fun river. If you're into cool geologic traits, try Signal Point. A glorious forest near Middle Creek is Prentice Cooper State Forest; Middle Creek is near Tumbling Shoals which is without doubt worth visiting. Summertime highs at Middle Creek ordinarily tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are usually in the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in   the 20's overnight here at Middle Creek. Middle Creek is a relatively wet place typically with a good deal of rainfall; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is June. Burnt Cabin Spring is a great local attraction, and don't leave Middle Creek without first checking out Edwards Point.
