Tennessee whitewater - Middle Creek, Hamilton County Hamilton county, Rainbow Lake to Tennessee River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.     The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Chattanooga, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Tennessee you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This is the only paddling section along Middle Creek. Not too many     hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Middle Creek. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: Signal Point is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Middle Creek, and Burnt Cabin Spring is always fun to check out. A spree to Tumbling Shoals is always fun, and a splendid forest close by is Prentice Cooper State Forest. A lot of rainfall falls at Middle Creek; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily March, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is June. The warmest time of the year at Middle Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout   the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Middle Creek are in the 20's. This river is so great.
