If you're coming from Johnson City it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for

River is a wet site that gets much precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is October. High temperatures at Nolichucky River through the days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. All through the
winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Nolichucky River. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Great Smoky Mountains will keep you coming back many times.
