The scenic beauty of Tennessee and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The Walden Ridge to Soddy-Daisy section of North Chickamauga Creek is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and
some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Walden Ridge to Soddy-Daisy stretch is just one of many. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Chattanooga, as you can see on the road map further down.
