A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The North River Campground to Tellico River stretch is the only paddling stretch along North River. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Great Smoky Mountains scenery is wonderful. Be careful coming to the Great Smoky Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again.   Have a perfect hiking adventure along the McNabb Creek Trail. The warmest time of the year at North River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and the night is somewhat colder of course, usually in the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while North River nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. Going for a hike along the Hemlock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and a great place close by is Queen Cove.
