The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch of North River in Tennessee is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Great exercise and     just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The North River Campground to Tellico River section is the only paddling section along North River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the McNabb Creek Trail, and a great place to pop by is Queen Cove. North River commonly gets a good deal of rainfall; March is the wettest month with most rain while October is mostly the driest month. You just can't   envision the amount of outdoors fun stuff the Great Smoky Mountains has to offer. Going for a hike along the Hemlock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. At North River during the long summer days highs are in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to North River.
