Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with
plenty of spots for that. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This stretch of Obed River in Tennessee is 9.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-V section of whitewater. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river.
