This section of Obed River in Tennessee is 4 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. This is a pretty decent length     section, suitable for an afternoon trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beautiful scenery of Cumberland/ Morgan County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The Adams Bridge to Potter's Ford section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Obed River is a reasonably wet place regularly with a good deal of rain; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest   month of the year is October. High temperatures at Obed River all through the summertime months are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Obed River. A short spree to Derrick Spring is always worthwhile.
