If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Obey River - East Fork will make you feel great. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so     why not pack your sleeping bag too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The campgrounds here at Obey River - East Fork are pretty good. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The Hanging Limb to Highway 85 section is one of many paddling sections in this river system.
