This section of Pine Creek in Dekalb County is 1.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV+(V) section. The to Center Hill Reservior stretch is the only paddling stretch along Pine Creek. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to
keep you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: Pine Creek is a rather wet place commonly with much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most; October is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Pine Creek get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Pine Creek dip into the 20's.
