CLASS V 0.72 miles
The natural beauty of Tennessee and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This section of Road Prong is 0.72 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. This is an extremely short section so better bring some good walking shoes. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are many good hotels
to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers
here are not very forgiving. This is the only paddling section along Road Prong. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Sevierville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Road Prong a wet site; March is when you get the most rain here while October is the month with the least
