If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This stretch of Road Prong in Sevier County is 0.72 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Sevierville, as you can see on the
road map further down. There are no other stretches to paddle along Road Prong than the Third bridge to right above West Prong confluence stretch. The wonderful Sevier County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Road Prong have people coming here. A good workout and a
chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whitewater paddling here in the Great Smoky Mountains is a great experience. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
