The Green Light Falls to Third Bridge section of Upper Road Prong is 1.09 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Sevier County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving.
There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The put-in is not too far from Sevierville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the
page so you won’t get lost. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. The Green Light Falls to Third Bridge stretch is the only paddling stretch along Upper Road Prong. This is a very short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.

of precipitation; most of the rain falls during March, and the driest of the months is October. Man, is there a load of exciting stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Upper Road Prong get into the 80's. For the duration
of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Upper Road Prong. Since you're here at Upper Road Prong why not go to Bearpen Hollow; you need to have a look at Arch Rock if you're here.
