The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The starting point is not too far from Sevierville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There aren’t any hotels right nearby
but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There's camping available near Upper Road Prong. The wild scenery of the Great
Smoky Mountains is great. Upper Road Prong doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Green Light Falls to Third Bridge section is the only one. The Green Light Falls to Third Bridge stretch of Upper Road Prong in Tennessee is 1.09 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
