Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Upper Road Prong is 1.09 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Sevier County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in is not too far from Sevierville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Green Light Falls to Third Bridge section is the
only paddling section along Upper Road Prong. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. There aren’t
any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There's camping available near Upper Road Prong.

moisture. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Upper Road Prong while night lows are usually in the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Upper Road Prong. Near Upper Road Prong you hit upon Bearpen Hollow which is a great spot to visit, and don't leave Upper Road Prong without first checking out Arch Rock.
