The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in location is a short drive from Chattanooga, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The campgrounds here at Roaring Creek are pretty good. Roaring Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections,

Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

a little journey to close by Hurricane Point is a splendid idea; close by you discover Polecat Hollow which is a tremendous site to go to. Roaring Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls during March, and October is the month with the least moisture.
For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Roaring Creek, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's; night lows all through the wintertime for Roaring Creek tend to be in the
20's. So many fun things to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, too tremendous to be true. A short spree to Hart Spring is always worthwhile.
