Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. section of Roaring River is 7 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your
car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Highway 135 to Stock Gap Road Bridge stretch is the only paddling stretch along Roaring River. days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Roaring River. Roaring River is a wet place that gets much precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while October is generally the driest month.
