A interesting point is the Boils about halfway through this trip. The boils is a huge spring. The Highway 135 to Stock Gap Road Bridge section of Roaring River in Tennessee is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots     in Tennessee are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Tennessee and the water flowing gracefully down Roaring River have people coming here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This is the only paddling section along Roaring River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Roaring River is a reasonably wet place typically with a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most while October is generally the driest month. Throughout the summertime months at Roaring River temperatures are mostly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Roaring River are in the 20's.
