This section of Rock Creek in Bledsoe / Hamilton County is 9 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. The Retro-Hughes Road to Leggett Road bridge stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The wonderful     Tennessee scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Rock Creek will make you feel great. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Chattanooga, as you can see on the road map further down. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might want to pay a visit to Shingle Mill Hollow if you're here   at Rock Creek, and what would a place like Rock Creek be without out of the ordinary close by traits like Clifton Bend. Rock Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is October. At Rock Creek all through the summer highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's while Rock Creek overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
