  The put-in is not too far from Chattanooga, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Rock Creek is 9 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Bledsoe / Hamilton County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the
    Retro-Hughes Road to Leggett Road bridge stretch is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Getting your paddling
muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The campgrounds here at Rock Creek are pretty good. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Summertime at Rock Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Rock Creek.
Rock Creek is a quite wet place regularly with a large amount of rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while October is mostly the driest month. If you wish for a little side spree, try Shingle Mill Hollow, and you need to explore Clifton Bend since you're here.
