The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Cookevi lle, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Jackson County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This stretch of Spring Creek is 4
miles long and it is classified as a class II-III(IV) section by American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're
willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here.
