The Waterloo Falls to Spring Creek Community section of Spring Creek in Jackson County is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(IV) section. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often more challenging than in other states, so better not forget that many
of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're coming from Cookevi lle it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have
a lot of people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Waterloo Falls to Spring Creek Community section is one of them. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are
campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: A great site to stop at near Spring Creek is Hardy Hollow; you need to stop by Dave Bluff if you're here. This river is so great. Summertime highs at Spring Creek mostly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down
it sinks down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Spring Creek. Spring Creek is not far at all from Cookevi lle, and Hardscrabble Bluff is an attention-grabbing thing to observe while
you're here. The high level of precipitation makes Spring Creek a quite wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is October.
