Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The put-in is not too far from Cookevi lle, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting
or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are a few other sections in this river system that
can be paddled as well. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. This section of Spring Creek in Jackson County is 4 miles long and is a class II-III(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Briefly about the general
area: Hardscrabble Bluff is an interesting spot to explore while at Spring Creek, and Hardy Hollow is a great site to spend some time. Dave Bluff is an out of the ordinary thing to catch a glimpse of if you're here at Spring Creek, and Spring Creek is not far at all from Cookevi
lle. Throughout the summer here at Spring Creek, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are regularly in the 40's while Spring Creek nighttime low temperatures during the winter are
in the 20's. Spring Creek is a reasonably wet place mostly with a good deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most while October is generally the driest month. This river is so perfect.
