The Stinging Fork Falls to Piney River section of Stinging Fork is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class IV(V) section by American Whitewater. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Great exercise
and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The campgrounds here at Stinging Fork are pretty good. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are no
other sections to paddle along Stinging Fork than the Stinging Fork Falls to Piney River section. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
