The natural beauty of Marion/ Hamilton County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The Suck Confluence to Knuckle Head stretch of Suck Creek in Tennessee is 2 miles long and is according
to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. Suck Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Suck Confluence to Knuckle Head stretch is the only one. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking
there are lots of good spots for that around here. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Chattanooga, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
