county,
Suck Confluence to Knuckle Head section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV-V+ 2 miles
The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Suck Creek in Tennessee is 2 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Chattanooga, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. There aren’t any hotels
right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling
spots. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. The Suck Confluence to Knuckle Head stretch is the only paddling stretch along Suck Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more.
