The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Bridge above Bald River to bridge below Jared's Knee stretch is just one of many. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing     to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful scenery of Monroe County and the water flowing gracefully down Tellico River have people coming here. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area:   During the summertime at Tellico River highs are usually in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; overnight lows through the winter for Tellico River tend to be in the 20's. This river is so perfect. Tellico River is a reasonably wet place generally with lots of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here while October is typically the driest month. So many amusing things to do here in the Great Smoky Mountains, too glorious to be true. Take a hike on the Cow Camp Trail, and Papaw Cove is in the neighborhood, and is a brilliant location. Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Bald River Trail; do put some time aside to spend at Bald River Falls since you're here at Tellico River.
