The natural beauty of Tennessee and the water flowing gracefully down Tellico River will make you feel great. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Tellico River through the months of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 60's. Highs all   through the winter are ordinarily in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Tellico River. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Tellico River is right by the Cow Camp Trail; Papaw Cove is close by, and is a great spot. Tellico River is a reasonably wet place usually with lots of rain; the month with most of the rain is March, and October is the month with the least moisture.
