This stretch of White Oak Creek in Morgan/ Scott/ Fentress County is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. There's camping available near White Oak Creek. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Highway 52 to Clear Fork River section is one of them. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Harriman, please print out a copy of the road map
further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near.
