Is there a guided rafting trip on Wildcat Creek? Says B Rives
The Source to Tellico River section of Wildcat Creek in Monroe County is 4 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Monroe County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Wildcat Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Source to Tellico River stretch is the only one.
The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day
paddling trip. The put-in location is a short drive from Athens, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
