The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Woodcock Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in location is a short drive from Chattanooga, as you can see on the road map further down. Woodcock Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Woodcock Gulf to Daus stretch is the only one. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll
find a large number of good places. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Woodcock Gulf to Daus section of Woodcock Creek in Tennessee is 6 miles long and has been determined by
American Whitewater to be a class IV-V+ section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
