The beautiful scenery of Sequatchie County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The put-in is not too far from Chattanooga, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning
trip. This section of Woodcock Creek in Sequatchie County is 6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V+ section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The Woodcock Gulf to Daus section is the only paddling section along Woodcock Creek. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
