The nature scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water beats anything. The Woodcock Gulf to Daus section of Woodcock Creek is 6 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is the only paddling stretch along Woodcock Creek. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. There's camping available near Woodcock Creek. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to
drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this
state than those in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're coming from Chattanooga it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.

the 40's while the cold winter nights at Woodcock Creek are in the 20's. A magnificent spot near Woodcock Creek is Woodcock Gulf, and don't leave Woodcock Creek without first paying a visit to Boynton Spring. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains
will keep you coming back again and again. All the water falling down from the sky makes Woodcock Creek a wet site; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
