The starting location is a reasonable drive from Crossville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Yellow Creek in Cumberland County is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to     be a class III-V section. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Yellow Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Catoosa Road to Daddy's Creek stretch is the only one. The wonderful Cumberland County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. For the period of the long summer days at Yellow Creek highs are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Highs throughout the winter are regularly in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Yellow Creek. Yellow Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; October on the other hand is the driest.
