This section of Yellow Creek is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The river winds through the Cumberland Plateau Mountains and you get great scenery. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The scenic beauty of Cumberland County and the water flowing gracefully down Yellow Creek will make you feel great.
This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is the only paddling section along Yellow Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking,
either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. The starting location is a short drive from Crossville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
