The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming
    from far and near. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Alamito Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Casa
Piedra to FM 170 section is the only one.

Briefly about the general area:
Going for a hike along the Fort Leaton State Historic Site Nature Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. At Alamito Creek all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 100's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 70's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 60's; overnight lows in the 30's for Alamito Creek.
Alamito Creek is pretty dried up regularly; the month with most of the rain is September while March is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
