The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Austin-Round Rock, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are no other stretches to paddle along Berry Creek than the Shell Road to Weir stretch. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. The Shell Road to Weir section of Berry Creek is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class II section     by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The average Texas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: A short tour to Berry Springs is always worthwhile; there's nice hiking along the Good Water Trail. Berry Creek gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here while December   is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Berry Creek during the months of summer are in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Berry Creek tend to be in the 30's.
