The Shell Road to Weir section of Berry Creek in Texas is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Austin-Round Rock it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. enough to come here and paddle. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The campgrounds here at Berry Creek are pretty good.
Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
