CLASS II-III 20 miles
I would like information from anyone who has paddled this section of the Blanco. Email to ash_barbara20@hotmail.com Says Barbara Ash
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The put-in location is a short drive from Austin-Round Rock, as you can see on the road map further down. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. This is one of a small
number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of Texas and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The nearby hotels
are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Wimberley to Kyle section of Blanco River in Texas is 20 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section.
