The nature scenery of Brazos County and the water flowing gracefully down Brazos River make the trip here worthwhile. The starting location is a short drive from Brenham, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better     reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is an extremely short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The Hidalgo Falls section is the only paddling section along Brazos River. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Briefly about the general area: The annual precipitation here at Brazos River is about average; the wettest month of the year is mostly September, that's the one that rains the most; July meanwhile is the driest month. Throughout the summer months here at Brazos River, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's,   and night lows at Brazos River through the wintertime frequently fall into the 30's.
