  The wonderful Texas scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. The starting location is a reasonable drive from College Station-Bryan, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is the only paddling section along Brazos River. The Port Sullivan North of FM 485 stretch of Brazos River in Texas is 1.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier
    than elsewhere, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few
times. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

Briefly about the general area:
Through the summer months at Brazos River highs are frequently in the 90's while overnight lows are typically in the 70's. All through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 50's while Brazos River nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 30's.
Brazos River is a good place of normal precipitation; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
