The starting point is not too far from College Station-Bryan, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This is the only paddling stretch along Brazos River. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for     more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. This section of Brazos River is 1.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Brazos River ordinarily tend to be in the 90's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Brazos River sink into the 30's.
