  The starting location is a reasonable drive from Lubbock, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you wonít get lost. The beautiful scenery of Lubbock Crosby Garza County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good spots for that
    around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature
have a lot of people coming here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The Slaton to SH 207 section of Brazos River - Double Mountain Fork - North Fork in Texas is 22 miles long and is a class II section  
of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Slaton to SH 207 stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system.
