The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. This stretch of Brazos River - Salt Fork in Kent Stonewall County is 65 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Texas and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Now this
is a pretty long section, so better bring your camping gear along. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. For
all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
