Texas whitewater - Cibolo Creek, Comal Bexar County Comal Bexar county, Oak Village North to Luxello section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II     18 miles   The Oak Village North to Luxello section of Cibolo Creek in Comal Bexar County is 18 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The wonderful Comal Bexar County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. There's camping available near     Cibolo Creek. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from San Antonio, as you can see on the road map further down. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. There are no other stretches to paddle along Cibolo Creek than the Oak Village North to Luxello stretch. Briefly about the general area: The annual rain here at Cibolo Creek is about average; most of the rain falls   during September, and January is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Cibolo Creek during the long summer days are in the 90's, and the nighttime is quite cooler of course, usually in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Cibolo Creek. You have to positively pop by Natural Bridge of Texas while you're here at Cibolo Creek.
