If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Texas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The nature scenery of Texas and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you
are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one,
and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at Colorado River are pretty good.
