The New Braunfels stretch of Comal River in Comal County is 1 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II(III) section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Comal County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is a very short stretch so no need     to bring snacks. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Comal River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the New Braunfels stretch is the only one. Briefly about the general area: Panther Canyon is a splendid site to stop at nearby, and Comal Springs is always fun to check out. Through the summertime at Comal River highs are usually in the 90's with overnight lows in the 70's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 50's with temperatures at Comal River dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.
