Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The campgrounds here at Crabapple Creek are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Crabapple Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Eckert     Road to FM 965 section is the only one. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Crabapple Creek gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; most of the rain falls through May while   January is typically the driest month. Don't leave Crabapple Creek without first going for a hike along the Summit Trail, and of course, A tour to Fool Gap is always fun. Good hiking is available along the Echo Canyon Trail.
