  This section of Crabapple Creek in Texas is 8 miles long and is a class IV+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Texas scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling section along Crabapple Creek.     rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.

For the period
of the months of summer at Crabapple Creek temperatures are typically in the 90's while nighttime lows are typically in the 70's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Crabapple Creek. Good hiking is available along the Summit Trail; Fool Gap is another fine place to stop by nearby.
