Texas whitewater - Duck Creek, Dallas County Dallas county, Beltline Road to Miller Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     5 miles   The Beltline Road to Miller Road stretch of Duck Creek is 5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Dallas County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The starting point is not too far from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington, as you can see on the road map further down. There are no other stretches to paddle along Duck Creek than the     Beltline Road to Miller Road stretch. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The average Texas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: Duck Creek is a good place of typical precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and December is the month with the least moisture. At Duck Creek all through the days of summer highs are in the 90's. Summer   overnight lows descend down to the 70's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Duck Creek fall into the 20's.
