Texas whitewater - Duck Creek, Dallas County Dallas county, Beltline Road to Miller Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     5 miles   The Beltline Road to Miller Road stretch of Duck Creek in Texas is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The wonderful Dallas County scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There are no other stretches to paddle along Duck Creek than the Beltline Road to Miller Road stretch. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're     on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The put-in location is a short drive from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington, as you can see on the road map further down. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year at Duck Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 90's; the night is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 70's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Duck Creek dipping down into the 20's   during winter nights. From a precipitation point of view Duck Creek is a rather normal location; May is when you get the most rain here, and December is when it's the driest.
