The wonderful Texas scenery and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Texas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. There are no other sections to paddle along Duck Creek than the Beltline Road to Miller Road section. The starting location is a reasonable     drive from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and nighttime lows at   Duck Creek through the winter frequently descend into the 20's. From a rain point of view Duck Creek is a quite common place; May is when you get the most rain here, and December is when it's the driest.
