The scenic beauty of Denton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes.     If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Texas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling section along Furneaux Creek. The Josey Lane to McCoy Road stretch of Furneaux Creek is 2 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Elm Fork Nature Preserve Trail; hiking along the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve Trail is wonderful fun.
