Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. This stretch of Guadalupe River is 9.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive     a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Kerrville, as you can see on the road map further down. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. During the warmest time   of the year at Guadalupe River temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 50's while Guadalupe River night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's.
