  The Center Point to Comfort stretch of Guadalupe River in Kerr County is 9.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Kerrville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because
    it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Texas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This is not the only
paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The scenic beauty of Texas and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons  
enough to come here to paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll meet a lot of people from Center Point here, and a tour here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Kerrville-Schreiner State Park. High temperatures at Guadalupe River during the long summer days are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's, and overnight lows at Guadalupe River during the winter regularly fall into the 30's. The annual rain here at Guadalupe River is about average. The month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
