  The put-in is not too far from Uvalde, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of Edwards County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers
    in this state are quite easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. This stretch of Hackberry Creek - Nueces River is 11 miles long and
has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
