The 2nd FM 462 crossing to Kings Water Hole stretch of Hondo Creek in Texas is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that many
of the sections here are safe for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is the only paddling stretch along Hondo Creek. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these
hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. The scenic beauty of Medina County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
