This section of Hondo Creek in Medina County is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Hondo Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the 2nd FM 462 crossing to Kings Water Hole section is the only one. This section is long enough     for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
