This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The wonderful Texas scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Independence Creek doesn't have a lot of     paddling stretches, the FM 2400 to Pecos River stretch is the only one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.
