This stretch of Johnson Creek in Tarrant County is 3.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. The beautiful scenery of Texas and the water flowing gracefully down Johnson Creek beats anything. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Texas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. The starting point is not too far from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you'll
be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Meadowbrook Park to Great SW Pkwy section is the only paddling section along Johnson Creek. Great exercise and just being
out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers.
