The wonderful Llano County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The Llano to FM 3404 stretch of Llano River in Llano County is 19 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(IV) section. Whether     you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: If you desire a little side trip, try Salt Hollow. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Llano River while night lows are mostly in the 70's. For the period of the winter the highs are usually in the 50's,   and nighttime lows at Llano River during the wintertime regularly drop into the 30's. From a rainfall point of view Llano River is a pretty normal location; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January.
