  The Kimble CR 310 to Kimble CR 314 section of Llano River in Texas is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Texas scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Kerrville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are plenty of other sections in this
    river system that can be paddled as well. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you donít
have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Texas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding.

Going for a hike along the
Walter Buck Wildlife Management Area Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. You'll meet a lot of folks from Junction here, and close by you hit upon great sites like Big Draw. This river is a wonderful place to visit. South Llano River State Park is a delightful spot to stretch your legs a bit. Summertime highs at Llano River usually tend to be in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Llano River. Llano River gets very little precipitation. The wettest month of the year is commonly September, that's the one that rains the most; December is when it's the driest.
