Texas whitewater - Nolan River, Hill County Hill county, SH 174 to Adair Spring Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II     6 miles   The wonderful Texas scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Nolan River will make you feel great. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This stretch of Nolan River is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. This is the only paddling section along Nolan River. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels     nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a short drive from Granbury, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Briefly about the general area: Through the summer here at Nolan River, high temperatures generally get into the 90's with overnight lows in the 70's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's, and overnight lows during the winter for Nolan River tend to be in the 20's.
