  The average Texas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The FM 1631 to Pedernales River section of North Grape Creek in Gillespie Blanco County is 17.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III+ section by American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at North Grape Creek are pretty good. The beautiful scenery of Texas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here.
    Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There are no other sections to paddle along North Grape Creek than the FM 1631 to Pedernales River section. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your
time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.

For the duration of the warm days of summer at North Grape Creek highs are mostly in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime
 
are usually in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for North Grape Creek.
From a rainfall point of view North Grape Creek is a relatively common place; most of the rain falls throughout May while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
