  The Johnson City to Pedernales Falls SP section of Pedernales River in Texas is 17 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV(V+) section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The natural beauty of Blanco County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Johnson City to Pedernales Falls SP section is one of them.
    A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Texas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are
less demanding. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots.

along the Pedernales Falls State Park Equestrian Trails.
