The scenic beauty of Presidio County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. This section of Rio Grande in Presidio County is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that. The campgrounds
    here at Rio Grande are pretty good. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are
great reasons to come.

Through the days of summer at Rio Grande temperatures are typically in the 100's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 60's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Rio Grande plunge into the 30's.
Near Rio Grande you come across Las Burras Canyon which is a good location to explore, and going for a hike along the Rancherias Canyon Trail will let you absorb the
 
natural beauty of this region. Rio Grande is a location that is relatively arid frequently; the wettest month of the year is mostly September, that's the one that rains the most; March meanwhile is the driest month.
