CLASS II(IV) 17 miles
This stretch of Rio Grande is 17 miles long and is a class II(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Texas and the playfulness of the water beats anything. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your
time, so pack your camping stuff. The average Texas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Great exercise and spending some quality
time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.
