CLASS II     10 miles
The Talley to Solis section of Rio Grande in Brewster County is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Brewster County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. The Talley to Solis section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. There arenít
any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. When you're paddling down a Chisos Mountains river like this one you always
get great scenery along the way too. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many
other rivers for that. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
