The Solis to Rio Grande Village stretch of Rio Grande is 20 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Texas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. When you're paddling down a Chisos Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. | have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Solis to Rio Grande Village section is one of them. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
