The beautiful scenery of Uvalde County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The put-in location is a short drive from Uvalde, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This is the only paddling     stretch along Sabinal. This stretch of Sabinal in Uvalde County is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Sabinal are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Sabinal is a good location of common rainfall; October is the month that gets the most rain while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A pleasant site in close proximity to Sabinal is Darbs Hollow. At Sabinal through the   summertime highs are in the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Sabinal dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
