  This stretch of San Francisco Creek in Texas is 22 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The nature scenery of Texas and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are no other stretches to paddle along San Francisco
    Creek than the Dirt Road crossing to Rio Grande stretch. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You might have to settle for
a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places.

Throughout the warm months highs here at San Francisco Creek reach the 90's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at San Francisco Creek.
